Terms of Service

Effective: TBD · Last updated: TBD

NOTICE TO DEVELOPER: This is boilerplate. Section 4 (the aviation liability disclaimer) is the most important clause in this document for an FAA-regulated tool. Have an aviation attorney review it specifically before launch.

1. Agreement to terms

By using Blocktime you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Service description

Blocktime is an operations and compliance assistant for Part 91 and Part 135 aviation operators. It calculates rolling totals, models chief counsel interpretations, and helps log duty and flight time.

3. Account responsibilities

You're responsible for the accuracy of data you enter, the security of your account credentials, and the actions of users in your organization.

4. Aviation compliance — read this

BLOCKTIME IS A CALCULATION AID, NOT A REGULATORY AUTHORITY.

(a) Blocktime computes duty and flight time figures based on the data you enter. It does not replace the operator's General Operations Manual, the Chief Pilot's authority, the operator's Director of Operations, the FAA Principal Operations Inspector assigned to your certificate, or any aviation attorney's advice.

(b) Compliance verdicts produced by Blocktime are informational and reflect Blocktime's interpretation of Federal Aviation Regulations and published Chief Counsel interpretations. They are not binding on the FAA and do not constitute legal advice.

(c) You — the operator and the pilot in command — are solely responsible for ensuring every flight complies with applicable regulations. Do not rely on Blocktime as your sole source of compliance verification.

(d) Specific items not covered by Blocktime include but are not limited to: OpSpec deviations issued to your certificate, augmented crew rules, international operations under foreign regulators, flag/supplemental carrier rules under Part 121, NTSB and FAA enforcement actions, and any operator-specific recordkeeping requirements beyond 14 CFR 135.63.

5. Subscription and billing

Paid plans renew automatically. You can cancel from Settings → Billing. No refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law.

6. Acceptable use

You won't reverse engineer, resell, or scrape the service; misuse the AI features to generate content unrelated to aviation operations; or upload data you don't have the right to share.

7. Intellectual property

We own Blocktime, its code, its design, and its name. You own the operational data you enter. You grant us a license to process your data only as needed to provide the service.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or correct in every regulatory interpretation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blocktime's aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages — this includes FAA enforcement actions, lost revenue from grounded aircraft, or third-party claims arising from your operations.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. We may suspend access for violation of these Terms. On termination, you may export your data for 30 days, after which we delete it per the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Juan, PR.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email and in-app at least 30 days in advance.
